These days it seems like there’s a “hack” for everything. Ingenuity lies in the innovative ways we can continue to make life a little easier. Traveling is one of those things that can be amazing, but also stressful in all the details. So here are my favorite travel hacks that make traveling a little bit easier.
MY 5 FAVORITE TRAVEL HACKS
1: Spray perfume on your clothes before packing and leave the perfume bottle at home. When packing, I always make sure to spray my clothes down with my perfume of choice. This way everything smells wonderful, I save space and don't have to worry about packing my perfume.
2: Limited time between layovers or before a flight to charge your phone? Put your phone on airplane mode while charging to get a big boost in a small period of time. We are always connected to our phones & we all know the pain of seeing that little red battery warning you of impending doom.
3: Skip the peanuts and pretzels offered on the plane and pack your favorite snacks to make for a more enjoyable flight. Need some ideas? Check out our favorite travel treats here. Packing snacks comes in handy for more than just in-flight, it's also great for those midnight cravings and saves you a trip wandering through the hotel looking for vending machines.
4: Headphones or earbuds are a travel must-have, whether to listen to your favorite music, an in-flight movie or drown out the crying baby two rows down. For extra long flights, I like to bring BOTH. Switching between the two makes sure my ears stay comfortable, since the earbuds sit inside the ear, and the headphones press on the outer. I do this for every international flight and I always end up switching it up half way.
5. I always find myself taking off my earrings in-flight to make it more comfortable to sleep or to wear my headphones, but it's always a pain to dig through my luggage to find a safe place to put them and not all my purses have zippered pockets, so I worry about them falling out. Instead, what I started doing is securing them through my shirt or scarf to keep them close by and safe. This also means no rummaging through my luggage to put away and put back on.
BONUS: I couldn't write this post without my favorite travel hack of them all, Sleeper Scarf! With it’s secret, built-in inflatable neck pillow, you can wear it as a scarf all through your travels & no one will ever know how undercover prepared you are. When it's time for some beauty rest, just unzip the hidden zipper and inflate in a few easy breaths.
